Hands-on! The Hudson Valley aims to provide volunteer support for over 300 non-profit agencies in the Hudson Valley. We achieve this by promoting volunteerism through various channels such as our website, community presentations, partnerships, and collaboration with local media. Once we have successfully recruited volunteers, we conduct interviews to identify their interests and match them with suitable non-profit organizations in need of their service. In addition to this, we also administer programs that involve volunteers, like the ombudsman program. This program recruits, trains, places, and supervises volunteers to serve as advocates in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, enriched housing facilities, and family-type homes.
