The Paterson NJ Housing Authority offers public housing exclusively for senior citizens. To be considered for occupancy, applicants must meet certain criteria, including having at least one citizen or eligible non-citizen in the household, an annual income that falls within the very low income limits established by HUD, and providing Social Security numbers for all family members age 6 or older. Additionally, PHAs may admit families with incomes that do not exceed 80% of the median area income, provided they have first met the annual 40% targeted income requirement for extremely low income families. Applicants must also meet the tenant selection and suitability criteria, as outlined in the PHA's policy, and successfully complete the pre-occupancy class.
