Mcrae Senior Housing is a 20-unit apartment complex that offers affordable housing for low income seniors. To be eligible, applicants must be 62 years or older and meet specific income requirements. Rent is calculated at 30% of the resident's adjusted gross monthly income. The 2015 Annual Income Guidelines for White County are as follows: $18,450 for one person and $21,100 for two people. Each 1-bedroom apartment is fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, smoke detector, emergency call switches, fire extinguisher, and storm door. Additionally, there is a common laundry facility in the central building, and water, sewer, and trash pick-up are included. Optional features include walk-in showers, tubs with shower and vanity, wheelchair accessibility, vision and hearing-impaired accessible apartments, and a separate heating and cooling system for each unit. Pets are also allowed on the premises. The on-site manager is available during office hours, which are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Fridays.
