About This The Houston County and Warner Robins Housing Authority

The Houston County and Warner Robins Housing Authority manages Low Rent Public Housing for low income residents. The program operates on an income-based system and follows eligibility guidelines set by HUD. Currently, the Authorities oversee 426 public housing rentals in Warner Robins and 40 rentals for Houston County Housing Authority. Due to high demand for housing assistance and limited availability, there may be times when waiting lists close to new applicants. If you require assistance, please contact the Housing Authority directly for information on eligibility requirements, rental availability, waiting list status, and application procedures. As of July 2011, all waiting lists except for the Senior Community at Kemp Harrison Homes were closed, according to the Authorities' website. The Housing Authority is available Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 5:00pm to provide assistance.

How to apply

Public housing is a form of housing tenure in which the property is usually owned by a government authority, either central or local. The federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) department addressed concerns of distressed properties and blighted superblocks with revitalization and funding projects for the renewal of public housing to decrease its density and allow for tenants with mixed income levels.
