About This Artspace Sailboat Bend Lofts
A unique partnership between Artspace, Broward County Cultural Division, and the City of Fort Lauderdale has resulted in the completion of the Artspace Sailboat Bend Lofts. These 37 units of affordable live/work studios are situated in Fort Lauderdale's historic Sailboat Bend neighborhood. Families earning 50% and 60% of the area median income can apply for these units.
The three-story building is designed in a U-shape around a designated parking area and contains 16 1-bedroom, 18 2-bedroom, and three 3-bedroom units. Additionally, the Broward County Historical Commission will soon have a new home adjacent to these lofts as we renovate the Historic West Side School, built in 1923.
Fort Lauderdale's downtown, cultural facilities, Riverwalk, and Himmarshee historic district are all within walking distance of this exciting new facility.

authority, either central or local. The federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) department
addressed concerns of distressed properties and blighted superblocks with revitalization and funding
projects for the renewal of public housing to decrease its density and allow for tenants with mixed
income levels.
