Pathlight HOME, otherwise known as the Grand Avenue Economic Community Development Corp., was established in 1992 with the purpose of offering affordable housing and economic opportunities to those with low incomes, particularly the homeless population in Central Florida. Since 1996, Pathlight HOME has been providing affordable housing in the area and has expanded from 75 units to over 525 units in the community, offering permanent housing to those who were previously homeless. On average, it costs $5,500 annually to provide comfortable accommodation for individuals in permanent housing. However, transitional housing can cost up to $21,000 yearly, while crisis housing, which caters to individuals with mental health issues or those in jail, can cost an average of $125,000 annually per bed.

addressed concerns of distressed properties and blighted superblocks with revitalization and funding
