About This Community Action Center Of Pullman
We are available for office hours from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. We close for lunch every day from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. On weekends, Saturday and Sunday, we are closed. Since 1988, the Community Action Center (CAC) has been providing essential support to over 5,000 individuals living in poverty in Whitman County. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we offer a range of services that include emergency and transitional housing, food supplements, energy assistance, legal referrals, rental assistance, weatherization, home rehab, and home purchase assistance. Our goal is to fight poverty, build strong and independent families, and create a better community. CAC is one of more than 900 Community Action Agencies established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to address poverty in America. Our agency helps individuals achieve self-sufficiency and empowers them to improve their lives.
How to apply
Public housing is a form of housing tenure in which the property is usually owned by a government
authority, either central or local. The federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) department
addressed concerns of distressed properties and blighted superblocks with revitalization and funding
projects for the renewal of public housing to decrease its density and allow for tenants with mixed
income levels.
