About This Pierce Queen Apartments
The Pierce Queen Apartments are conveniently situated near both the Courthouse and Rosslyn Metro stations and just two blocks north of Route 50. Covering a total of 50,000 square feet, these five three-story brick apartment buildings contain 50 units, including 41 one-bedroom units, 1 two-bedroom unit, and 8 three-bedroom units. Amenities in the area include easy access to shopping, restaurants, and movie theaters. Originally built in 1942, the Pierce Queen Apartments underwent a substantial renovation by Wesley Housing. The renovations included converting oil hot water heaters to gas, installing heat pumps for heating and central air conditioning, replacing the roofs, and adding new thermal windows. Additionally, nine one-bedroom units were enlarged to create one two-bedroom and eight three-bedroom units. Two of the apartments are now accessible to persons with disabilities. Volunteers from Walker Chapel, St. Matthew's, Herndon, Arlington Forest United Methodist Churches, and DC Cares (300) helped paint the property, and gifts and discounts were received from Hechinger's, Duron Paint, Giant Food, and landscape designers Charles Fortuna and Diedra Smith. The cost of the renovations was approximately $1.05 million. There is currently no partnership in place, and the Pierce Queen Apartments are home to around 75 residents.
