Community Lodgings aims to empower families by providing them with Transitional Housing, Affordable Housing, and Youth Education Programs. Our apartments, situated at 3908, 3912, and 3916 Elbert Avenue, as well as 607 and 612 Notabene Drive, are made available to 37 disadvantaged families at below market rent. Sadly, affordable housing is becoming increasingly scarce in Alexandria, as noted by the Alexandria Times. In 2001, there were around 18,000 apartments deemed affordable for families earning 60 percent or less of the region's median income, but this number has since dwindled to roughly 5,600 units. Despite these challenges, our predominantly Latino families are able to benefit from Community Lodgings' complimentary youth education programs, adult ESL classes, and parent education classes.

addressed concerns of distressed properties and blighted superblocks with revitalization and funding
