About This Homesource east tennessee
We do not solely base our housing options on income. Instead, our goal is to provide affordable housing for individuals with low to moderate incomes in East Tennessee while adhering to income restrictions (which means income cannot exceed 80% of the median income). Our organization, HomeSource East Tennessee, is a non-profit dedicated to providing quality homes and strengthening our communities. We achieve this by educating potential homeowners and tenants on financial management, personal responsibility, and the responsibilities of renting or owning a home. We also offer foreclosure prevention counseling to those struggling with their mortgage. Additionally, we build new apartments and single-family homes for those who may not qualify otherwise, provide affordable rental opportunities for seniors, and revitalize neighborhoods through improving existing housing or building new affordable housing. Ultimately, our goal is to help individuals and families thrive through affordable, sustainable homeownership or rental housing in positive and healthy communities.
How to apply
Public housing is a form of housing tenure in which the property is usually owned by a government
authority, either central or local. The federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) department
addressed concerns of distressed properties and blighted superblocks with revitalization and funding
projects for the renewal of public housing to decrease its density and allow for tenants with mixed
income levels.
