About This Amos Towers Senior Apartments
Amos Towers is a building that provides subsidized housing for seniors, funded through the Section 202/8 program where the federal government covers a portion of the rent. The building and property are smoke-free and consist of 97 apartments designed for seniors, with 10% of them available for those under age 62 who require accessible features. These apartments include both one-bedroom and efficiency units, with occupancy limited to two individuals in a one-bedroom and one person in an efficiency unit. The one-bedroom unit comprises a kitchen area/dinette, living room, bedroom, and bathroom, with air conditioning, a refrigerator, stove, and emergency pull cords in the bedroom and bathroom. The efficiency unit is considered as one room, with a combined bedroom and living room and a separate kitchen and bath, and some of them have undergone renovation to include a separate bedroom. Through federal funding, Amos Towers is able to provide a Utility Allowance to assist residents, with rent covering all utilities except for electric (partially subsidized at move-in), telephone, and cable (each apartment is cable-equipped). Residents have control over their own heating and air conditioning, with gas heat provided.
