Cornerstone Community Housing is dedicated to constructing affordable, high-quality housing for individuals with limited incomes, while also offering resources to help individuals grow personally and achieve economic independence. All of our properties have waiting lists, and rent prices vary based on unit size, household size, and income level. Unlike other housing programs, our tax credit rent is determined by the average income in your county or local area, known as the "area median gross income" (AMGI), which is updated annually by HUD. While your income is taken into consideration when determining eligibility for a low-income apartment at a tax credit property, the actual rent you pay is not solely based on your income. It's important to note that you must have enough income to cover your rent regardless of its source. Additionally, Cornerstone accepts Section 8 Vouchers.
How to apply
Public housing is a form of housing tenure in which the property is usually owned by a government
authority, either central or local. The federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) department
addressed concerns of distressed properties and blighted superblocks with revitalization and funding
projects for the renewal of public housing to decrease its density and allow for tenants with mixed
income levels.
