About This Fort Stephenson House
Fort Stephenson House is a HUD Section 8 project that offers affordable housing for low income elderly and disabled individuals. The facility consists of 56 apartments, including 48 efficiency apartments and 8 one bedroom apartments. These apartments are available on an income-based basis and include all utilities, free broadband internet, free Time Warner Cablevision, and individual climate control. Additionally, the apartments are pet-friendly and come with carpet and draperies, free Time Warner Cable TV with over 60 channels, an emergency call system, smoke detectors and sprinkler system, personal locked mailboxes, an in-house telephone system, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, a laundry room with coin washers and dryers, and an outdoor patio with a gas grill for warm weather pleasure. The building and grounds are also equipped with security cameras for added safety. Residents of Fort Stephenson House can also enjoy a nutrition program on weekdays at noon, as well as social activities and health clinics at the Sandusky County Senior Center located within the building. There is also a gift shop available for their convenience. It should be noted that the Fort Stephenson House does not discriminate on the basis of disability status in the admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, its federally assisted programs and activities.
