Cypress Gardens is a senior housing complex that was built in 1984 and is located near the Cypress Senior Center. It contains 125 units, including 111 one-bedroom and 14 two-bedroom units, and is exclusively for low-income seniors. The development was fully financed by HUD and the residents' rent is subsidized through the Project-Based Section 8 voucher program. To qualify for residency, households must have a qualifying income that falls within the 50% category of the Section 8/Public Housing Income Limits. No pets are allowed on the property and smoking is prohibited inside the apartments, on the grounds, and in common areas. Smokers must leave the property to smoke.
