It is a three-story building that has 47 one-bedroom units and a two-bedroom managers unit. The community has four units that are specifically designed for the mobility impaired, with one of these units additionally equipped for those with hearing and/or visual impairments. Each of the units is comprised of a bedroom, a bathroom, a living/dining area, and a kitchen with a pass-through counter, refrigerator, range, and vent. Barringer Gardens is the first community in North Carolina that has been established by RHFs. The one-bedroom apartments come with several amenities, including safety rails in the bathroom, emergency call systems, heating, smoke detectors, full kitchens, carpeting/hardwood flooring, and window treatments. Additionally, the building comes with several amenities such as an on-site laundry room, fitness room, computer room/library, individual indoor mailboxes, elevator, controlled entry access system, outdoor patio and garden, and lighted parking. The building is also conveniently located near public transportation. Due to high demand, most apartments have waiting lists.
