About This MSAA Commons for the Disabled
MSAA Commons provides affordable housing options for individuals with disabilities who are 18 years old or above. To be eligible, residents must meet the income limits established by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and adhere to the occupancy policy set by the sponsor. The monthly rent is determined by a formula specified by HUD based on the resident's income. MSAA Commons was created by the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America as a two-story, 24-unit building exclusively designed for those with mobility impairments. Constructed in 1994, it was the second building in Southern New Jersey catering to the special needs of this population. The one-bedroom units comprise a living room with an entry closet, dining area/kitchen, full bath with a linen closet and a spacious roll-in shower, and a bedroom with a closet. Meanwhile, studio units feature a living room/sleeping area with two closets, a kitchen, and a full bath complete with a linen closet and a large roll-in shower. Each unit is equipped with two emergency pull cords connected to 911. More information regarding eligibility and availability can be obtained by calling (856) 424-5621. Note that this apartment accepts HUD subsidies, meaning that if you qualify for low-income housing and the apartment is available, you will only have to pay 30% of your adjusted gross income.
