The Paterson NJ Housing Authority Senior Public Housing Apartments consist of 188 units. Only qualified applicants will be admitted, and to be considered qualified, an applicant must meet several criteria. These include being a head of household with at least one citizen or eligible non-citizen in the household, having an annual income that falls below the very low income limits set by HUD, and providing a Social Security number for all family members over the age of 6. Additionally, the PHA may admit families whose income falls below the low-income limit (80% of median area income) once the annual 40% targeted income requirement for extremely low-income families (income below 30% of median area income) has been met. All applicants must also meet the tenant Selection and Suitability Criteria, which includes completing a pre-occupancy class.
