About This St. Peters Senior Village
St. Peters Senior Village is a welcoming and comfortable community designed for low-income seniors. It consists of 52 apartments with beautiful landscaping and mature trees. The office is open on Tuesdays from 9am to 5pm. To become a tenant, you must be at least 62 years old with a total income of less than $35,000 per year. This is an independent living facility, so there is no assisted living care available. Residents must be capable of caring for themselves. Home care services are permitted, and many tenants utilize them. There is a designated building for seniors with mobility devices. Rent is based on tenant income and ranges from approximately 25% to 30% of gross income, with a minimum rent of $185 and a maximum of $420. Electric, water, sewer, and trash are included in an additional utility surcharge of $50 per month. Rent is recalculated each year. Smoking and pets are strictly prohibited. As there is usually a waiting list for apartments, you may contact the facility directly to determine your eligibility and apply.
How to apply
Public housing is a form of housing tenure in which the property is usually owned by a government
authority, either central or local. The federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) department
addressed concerns of distressed properties and blighted superblocks with revitalization and funding
projects for the renewal of public housing to decrease its density and allow for tenants with mixed
income levels.
