About This Hope Community

Hope Community is a garden-style apartment community located in Madison, Indiana. It is specifically designed for individuals aged 62 and above with lower incomes. The community offers forty studio and one-bedroom apartments, and the rent is determined based on the guidelines set by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Eligible residents pay only 30% of their adjusted gross income to cover rent and select utilities, with all other utilities included except for cable TV, Internet, and phone. Apartments at Hope Community are well-maintained and come equipped with appliances and carpeting. Each apartment has an individual entry door and screen door for enjoying the outdoors and has a wheelchair accessible option. The community also provides a common area for social, recreational, and craft activities, along with on-site coin-operated laundry services. The grounds are attractive and are located in a residential neighborhood, with access to transportation services. Each apartment has individually controlled heating and cooling units and 24/7 on-call emergency maintenance. The community has been smoke-free since April 1, 2016. Additionally, Hope Community has a Service Coordinator who assists residents with resources for aging and health care services in the surrounding community. The Service Coordinator also provides education about health and wellness and connects residents with volunteer opportunities and community engagement activities. Hope Community accepts HUD subsidies and offers one-bedroom apartments.
